Overview

The TeamLabs Planets is the second digital art museum to open in Tokyo following the acclaimed success of TeamLab Borderless. The TeamLab company specialise in providing the greatest sensory art exhibitions in the world - picture a wide variety of interactive rooms, filled with visual displays, and integrated with atmospheric soundscapes. The exhibits use complex projections that respond to movement, creating an immersive experience unlike anything else. One of the key differences with Planets is a stronger focus on tactile exhibits, emphasising the sense of touch. Planets used to be about half the size of Borderless, but recently the museum has expanded with additional exhibits, making it comparable to the Borderless location. It also tends to be a bit less crowded the Borderless, making it a good choice if you're planning to visit on a weekend or public holiday. You can easily spend over 2 hours exploring all the different rooms and interacting with the installations.
